Summer 2026: Grades are In

Just because we’re looking towards next summer doesn’t mean we’re done with this past one. Each year, we carefully review our parent evaluations to see not only what we did well, but what we did… less well.

First, the good news. (We’ll get to the humbling part. Eventually. Probably.)

Jewish connection. Every single parent who responded, 100%, rated us a 4 or 5 on connecting their child to the Jewish people and the wider Jewish community. We got a satisfaction score of 88%, compared to a national average of 74%. Our campers leave camp knowing they belong to something much bigger than a cabin.

A safe, proud Jewish space. 97% of parents said CYJ Texas created an inclusive, protective space free from antisemitism. The national average was 87%. In a year when that matters more than ever, this is the number we’re proudest of.

Safety and security. 99% of parents gave our safety and security policies a 4 or 5. Keeping your kids safe is the first thing we think about every morning, and the last thing we think about at night.

Israel, up close. 90% of parents said camp strengthened their child’s relationships with Israeli campers and staff. That’s the highest in the country, against a national average of 66%. Our mishlachat (Israeli delegation) didn’t just come to camp. They became family.

And where we’re growing. We’re going through every number and every comment, including the ones that made us wince a little. Once we’ve worked out what to improve and how, we’ll share some of it with you later this year, but more importantly, we’ll share how we’re going to bring that number up.
