CYJers on Year Course: Miles Berins

Young Judaea Year Course is often referred to as the culmination of the Young Judaea experience. So many of our chanichim (campers) go from Segel to our national senior leadership camp, Tel Yehudah, before spending a summer in Israel with our Gesher program, and then a gap year in Israel after high school. Year Course is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where Jewish life is a full 360 experience. Culture, religion, Hebrew, food, peoplehood… everything they get a taste of at camp comes alive in a Jewish country.

We are proud to see so many of our graduates take part in Year Course each year (including the ones in the adjacent photo), and it doesn’t hurt that it turns them into incredible summer staff members when they return! In our first profile of 5787, we hear from camp alum and last summer’s shira (song) specialist, Miles Berins. (Did I choose Miles first because he comes from a long line of very important and involved camp alumni and board members who I will definitely run into soon? OF COURSE NOT!)
