As one of the directors of the incredible Camp Young Judaea – Texas, I can confidently say that I have the best job in the world! For over two decades, I have helped bring the camp magic to our campers each summer. Last year, we welcomed over 600 campers, 125 outstanding staff members, and over 4,000 participants to our unforgettable retreats and experiences. Some might underestimate the dedication required for a camp director, but let me assure you, it is absolutely a full-time job! In fact, I’m lucky to work year-round with Mac Lindner our Camp Director, and 13 full-time staff who are passionate individuals who pour their hearts and souls into our community’s growth.

I am eager to head down to Wimberley for another amazing summer. At the end of this month, I will be joined by 40 other staff members on our campgrounds for our Head Staff Training. We spend a week training our staff in a multitude of different ways. We provide lifeguard and ropes course certifications and supervisor training. It’s all about ensuring that our staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge to make this summer truly remarkable.

The following week, all our counselors will arrive for a week of training. This is a critical time for our counselors to bond together, prepare for our campers, and hone their talents to be the best in the game. Not long after, our campers will arrive! After ten months of preparation, we are excited to put all our hard work into action. We can’t wait to give each camper the best summer possible at their summer home. Our mission is to engage and empower Jewish youth, foster leaders, and ensure a lifetime of commitment to our community and Israel. The Jewish community is counting on Camp Young Judaea to provide future leaders, one bunk at a time.

Pack your bags and get excited! I cannot wait to see your smiling faces in Wimberley.
